Orienteering at Mundaring this Sunday

Tuesday, 24 August 2010

Sunday’s Orienteering event is at South Ledge, near Mundaring Weir, with registration open from 9.00am until 10.30am.

The usual range of courses is available, including beginners and children’s courses.  Help is provided to first-timers to get you started in this fascinating sport.

The first of the season’s wildflowers should be out, and you will be able to walk to the South Ledge lookout for great views over the Helena Valley, as well as visit Mundaring Weir after the event.

Directions:  From Kalamunda take Mundaring Weir Road for approximately 12.5kms, then look for Orienteering signs and turn left into the Farrell Grove parking area.  From Mundaring, take Mundaring Weir Road from the traffic lights on Great Eastern Highway, after approximately 6kms stay on Mundaring Weir Road at the roundabout (take the last exit) and keep going until you pass the South end of Mundaring Weir (2.5kms).  Continue for a further 1.7kms and look for Orienteering signs to turn right into Farrell Grove.
