Event Procedures Manual

 January 2001

1. Introduction

2. Event Organiser Procedures

The Event Organiser has responsibility for ensuring that the event runs smoothly. There are plenty of tasks; most of these should be delegated and shared.

3. Course Setter Procedures

The Course Setter is responsible for design of all courses for an event, and for placing and collecting controls. The Setter takes advice and guidance from the Controller. The event map -- and perhaps examples of past courses on that map -- will already be available.

4. Results Processor Procedures

The Results Processor is responsible for much of the work in the caravan, at the event; the work centres around computer entry and processing of the SportIdent (e-tag) results.

5. Controller's Procedures

The Event Controller has overall responsibility for the fairness, safety and adherence to established standards. In particular, this role provides quality assurance for the event courses.
